Joshua Tree National Park, California
Nikon D600 : 10mm : shutter 1/25 : aperture f/8: ISO 200 : Gitzo 1541 tripod : Achratech GP ballhead
Taken with the Tamron 10-24mm wide angle zoom.I still like this lens, even in DX mode on the D600.
This year kicked off with a bang work-wise for me. Add raising a rambunctious Golden Retriever puppy to the mix and I have had very little sleep in 2014 so far.
A quick trip out to Joshua Tree National Park served well to recharge my batteries and slow down for a bit. Although I did not catch up on my sleep: endeavoring to shoot some starry skies (parts of the park have very good skies for astro photography). I never get tired of this park-with its wonderful rock formations, big skies and unique vegetation.
I had set up my GoPro to take a timelapse sequence and was wandering around behind our campsite when the sun set. In the sun’s final show for the day, it cast its light on the quickly passing clouds while illuminating the yuccas in a red glow.
